This Oncology Unit at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda has a multi-disciplinary team including doctors, nurses, pharmacist, social workers, dieticians, support workers, health care assistance and clerical officers. Their sole aim is to deliver high quality care to all patients and their families in a friendly environment. They never underestimate the importance of treating patients and their families at such a difficult time.
The Oncology Team is led by Consultant Medical Oncologist Dr Bryan Hennessy who is also Adjunct Professor in the Division of Cancer Medicine at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center; and an international leader in the application of reverse phase protein arrays (RPPA) for quantitative protein profiling to interrogate predictive and prognostic markers in breast, colon and other cancers.

Part of the leadership team also is Dr. Ahmed Nabil Rashed, MBBCH who is the Oncology Unit Registrar since April 2016. Dr. Rashed is a member of European Society for Medical Oncology since 2012, having graduated from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 2006. In 2007 he joined St. George’s Hospital, London University, UK in 2007 for elective study in Medical Oncology. He has a special interest in Breast, Prostate and Colon cancers.

The charity’s board would like to inform that because of recent revelations regarding charity directors receiving financial remuneration for their services, the board of directors would like to advise their patrons and supporters that they do not receive any financial or other remuneration for their services.
All services are provided on a free and voluntary basis. The charity adheres to all statutory obligations with regard to a limited company and annual accounts are submitted and audited as per statutory obligations.
