Dare to Bare to Fight Cancer
This will be the sixth year that the Northeast Dip in the Nip takes place. For those brave ladies who ‘dare to bare’, it has been said that the dip is the most empowering fun experience a person can have and it’s also very much about a celebration of life and bodies of all shapes and sizes.

I honestly can’t wait to run into that sea again and meet more strong beautiful women and raise money for what is such an amazing cause
Society puts immense pressure on us women to be perfect. We are constantly bombarded with messages through social media to be slim, eat healthy, be mindful, fight, be strong, don’t complain and be the flawless mother, the perfect friend, the impeccable co-worker. We rarely take time out to just be.
I had a feeling of excitement and nerves and pure adrenaline rushing through my body waiting on the beach to run into the sea. We all held hands and I can remember as I reached the water thus wave of indescribable emotion and calm coming over me.
NorthEast Dip in the Nip Returns..
For those of you that took part last year we don’t have to remind you of how this incredible event will empower you as a person and for those that have never done it, come on! what’s stopping you?
This year’s Northeast Female only fundraising “Dip in the Nip” is Sunday September 17th .. please spread the word we’d love to beat last years record of 127 dippers ..
This year will be our 6th year taking place and as always at a very Secret Location.. Again it is a women-only event.
As an experience and as many of the dippers will testify it is very much about life-affirmation and a celebration of life and our bodies in all its beauty.
Funds raised will be used to improve the treatment and outcomes of people with cancer so it truly does make a massive and real difference to those fighting cancer. Leading consultant oncologist Professor Bryan Hennessy is currently spearheading an appeal to purchase a latest generation cancer gene sequencing machine. This machine will facilitate Irish oncologists to better tailor cancer treatments and thus improve cancer care and survival outcomes. We hope to be able to acquire the machine this year.

Everyone arrives at the Westcourt Hotel in Drogheda. Sign in takes place and sponsorship money is handed over, some ladies get dressed up as in body paint, ware wigs, and long necklaces, then we do a bit of Zumba dancing to warm up.
08:00 AM – 08:15 AM:
Buses are provided to bring you to the Beach, we arrive there about 8.30 am a bit more dancing
This is the approximate time for when the Dip takes place after the dip you will be having a laugh and a warm cup of tea and hot dog. We then give out a few fun best non dressed prizes to both groups and individuals.
We head back to the Westcourt Hotel to change clothes and then across the road to the famous Moorland Cafe (Mc Closkey’s) on West Street for a well earned coffee and a bun!!
